When children perceive themselves as “bad” kids.

30 Second read

My dear friends, families, and colleagues,

Yom Kippur reminds me of the scale of reds and greens. Have you noticed some kids spiral into reds the moment they are criticized or told that they are engaging in a red behavior? Some children notice themselves do red behavior and they feel absolutely awful, as if they are “bad” people.

Tip: Let’s tell our children and students that “they are green people who sometimes do reds, and that’s ok. We still love them, care for them, and respect them, despite that they did some reds.” Hashem forgives us, and our kids can forgive themselves, too.

May we all be inscribed for a sweet and successful year!

Have a lovely chag!
